About Your Tax Bill

The Township of Wellington North is responsible for billing and collecting property taxes for the Township and on behalf of the County of Wellington and the local school boards.

The amounts collected on behalf of the school boards are based on the tax rates supplied annually by the Ministry of Finance and the annual assessment roll from MPAC.

Interim Tax Due Dates: February 24, 2024 & April 28, 2024
Final Tax Due Dates: August 23, 2024 & October 25, 2024

Payment may be made:

By mail
In person or through the mail slot at the Municipal Office in Kenilworth
At most financial institutions (MICR encoding on tax bills)
Via telephone banking (set-up with most major financial institutions)
Via personal computer banking (PDF)

Acceptable methods of payment are:

Cash
Cheque (post-dated cheques are accepted)
Interac Debit Card (at the office in Kenilworth)
Pre-authorized payment plans – monthly or instalment

The Township of Wellington North is pleased to offer a Pre-Authorized Payment Plan for the payment of taxes. Many taxpayers have asked for this service in order to assist them in monthly budgeting for taxes and to avoid being in arrears. This plan is also available for taxpayers who wish to continue to pay on the specified due dates.
The Pre-Authorized Payment Plan is a modern, easy method to make tax payments without the inconvenience of cheque writing, the increasing cost of postage or that trip to the bank/municipal office to pay your bill. If you are away on vacation, business trip or sick, your taxes will still be paid. With the Pre-Authorized Payment Plan, you avoid the embarrassment of missed payments and the penalty charge for late payments.

The cost of a tax statement or bill reprint is $20.00 and can be requested by a property tax owner. The cost of a tax certificate is $50.00 and can be requested by a law office or mortgage finance company. For payment options, email Crystal VanGerven .
