Wellington North Fire Services acts as an effective team to proactively protect and enhance the Township’s livability by serving and educating our community, preventing harm and responding to emergencies.
We are a volunteer fire service comprised of 1 full-time Director of Fire Services, 2 full-time Deputy Chiefs, 2 volunteer District Chiefs and approximately 50 volunteer firefighters.

Burn Permits
As general information, there is a By-Law for open air burning in place in the Township of Wellington North. Please review the Burn By-Law (PDF) and submit an online application. NOTE: Burn Permits are valid for only one (1) month from the date of issue. Office hours are 8:30am to 4:30 pm Monday to Friday. Online applications can take up to 2 business days to process. (Note: We do no issue burn permits within urban areas. Please refer to Section 6 of the Burn By-Law (PDF). You do not require a burn permit for a backyard campfire.
